Hallelujah! I pray that the God of peace will be with you. With your prayers and love, I have been able to continue focusing on the ministry here in the United States.

By God’s grace, I was able to attend the 80th Anniversary of Liberation event at Biola University, which was held for the next generation in America. Many American youth who watched Beyond Utopia were deeply moved. Even Native American students participated, and they shared that they had often thought life was too hard for them in the U.S. But after watching Beyond Utopia, they realized how much they had been complaining while living in abundance.

Through sharing the hardships of the North Korean people, hearts here were stirred toward thanksgiving, vision was restored, and there was a real impact on preparing the next generation in America. In particular, it was a precious time for second-generation Korean Americans to understand why we must do North Korea missions, and many of them expressed their desire to take part in this ministry.

Here in LA, I also met many missionaries. While we speak about North Korea, I had fellowship with missionaries serving around the world as well. Among them were people already prepared for North Korea missions. Through these gatherings, we shared about how we might specifically carry out missions together. One especially encouraging thing was that several missionaries said to me, “Whenever you come to the U.S., please come to our home. We want you to find rest and be fully recharged.” I believe this kind of support will be a real strength for North Korea missions.

We also spent meaningful time communicating with the next generation on a variety of topics. In LA, we visited places where many revivals in history had taken place, and there we prayed and shared fellowship with sisters in Christ. They told me, “Pastor, even after you leave, we will continue to help North Korean people and pray for them.” It was a great blessing to meet leaders like these.

Tomorrow I will leave LA for Virginia, where I will continue a busy schedule with many churches—through Beyond Utopia screenings, Sunday services, Wednesday gatherings, and Friday night prayer meetings.

This is why your prayers are so important, and why North Korea missions must remain a priority. Please continue to pray with us for the rescue of North Korean escapees in China. Our ministry partners are also interceding earnestly.

Please pray for all the staff and missionaries of Caleb Mission. Pray especially that every single North Korean escapee hiding in China may be rescued without anyone being left behind, and that they may be brought safely in God’s timing, nurtured, and discipled at the Southeast Asia Center. The escapees and missionaries there need strength—please intercede that God would strengthen them.

And finally, please continue to pray for those escapees who have already arrived in South Korea, that they may settle well into their new lives.

3 things to Pray

1. Heavenly Father, let the Korean Peninsula be united only through the power of the Gospel.
2. Father God, please rescue the North Korean escapees suffering in China and fill them with Your Gospel.

3. Lord, bless the missionaries at the Southeast Asia Center, the escapees being trained there, and all the staff and supporters of Caleb Mission. Raise up more partners in faith to stand with them.
